You quite simply purchase the right to sell an already existing product. Depending on the type of rights you purchase, you will get to keep either a percentage of the profits or the whole amount.
In the most ideal scenario, you can purchase what is called a master resale license, which basically gives you the right to sell the resale rights to other people!
Once you know how, selling information products to make money online is extremely easy when you buy the rights for an already established product. Not only do you capitalise on the good name of the author, but you don't have to spend any time developing your own product!
Here are the three main types of resale rights you can buy to make money online with information products:
Resale Rights - A resale rights license means that after you buy the item you will be allowed to sell it to your customers. There may be limitations, like that you can only sell the product for a specific price, or you cannot sell the item on an auction website. Products that come with resale rights mean that you can sell the product to just about anyone and keep 100% of the profits. The product you sell will only include the PUO (Personal Use Only) rights, in other words, you can NOT give the resale rights when you sell these type of products.
Master Resale Rights - When you acquire master resale rights, you sell the product/service to your customers, and you may also grant your customers the right to sell it. You can also pass master resale rights to your customers, if you are in possession of transferrable master resale rights. This allows your customers to also sell the product with resale rights.
Private Label Rights - With private label resale rights you may not only sell the product, but you may also edit the content or product and claim it as your own work
The majority of products that carry rights on the Internet right now are information-based products. So it's the perfect time to make money online with information by buying reprint rights
Here are just some of the ways to make money online selling information products:
eBooks - eBooks (digital books) are the most popular, so you can usually find eBooks that are suitable to sell to your market. I tend not to like the name eBooks as their is a lot of bad press related to these types of products, as some people created poor quality products. Your probably best off not mentioning these types of products as eBooks. For your customers refer to them as digital downloads.
Audio - Audio products are usualy recordings of semainars or an interview with an expert on the topic of the product. Sometimes listening to someone speak is better than sitting down to read.
Software - Small software programs, not huge programs that perform one or two simple tasks that help the customer to do something they can't or would take them hours. It is best that your product is unique.
Email courses - An email course is often delivered in smaller pieces over a course of days or weeks -- and as the name suggests, you email it to the customer, rather than sending them to a website where they download it.
